(Not to be confused with the Blue Horse Coffee, which has good coffee)
This place seemed like it would be the most likely possibility of good coffee in Morgantown, but I walked away a little disappointed (but not so much surprised). They pull off an old Sanguini(?) machine; place has diner-bar stool seating as well as tables. Also serve beer here. Overall a bit of a diner-esque feel to the place, with a slight indie-cafe slant. The latte prep was hard to watch. The espresso was coming out fast, and she was bouncing the milk a bit (as in WHOOoosh, WHOOoosh, WHOOoosh). The espresso also sat for a little longer than should have, but tasted like the beans were stale anyhow. Froth had some significant bubblage (surprise surprise). I tipped anyhow, because, the barista really didn’t know any better, so it’s not entirely her fault. I know I shouldn’t have expected to find decent coffee in West Virginia, but Morgantown is a college town, so figured it was worth a try. There are a couple more places down here I’ll hit within the next year, because I am down here occasionally, sometimes weeks at a time; but, I’ll have to work up some more courage for these next few.
