First off, the woman who took my order was a little ‘flustered,’ although there was barely anyone else in the store. Somehow, my double skim latte became a triple cappuccino (w/ whole milk). Now, I can live with that… but the preparation left something to be desired. (although, this was about five minutes after a coffee off 21st Street’s clover, so my ‘buds were a bit spoiled at the moment. Regardless, the espresso came out fast, and sat for about thirty seconds while the barista was blowing bubbles in the milk. Pretty big bubbles. Also, I had seen the guy, two orders prior to mine, use a frosting knife to strain the milk in someone else’s drink, giving them a zero foam count, but they may have asked for it that way, so I’ll have to disregard that one.
And while I am posting on Fortune’s, I should mention that I am not a big fan of the barrels that they store their bulk beans in. Stopped by on ‘black Friday’ with some visiting family to get a quarter pound of decaf beans for them while walking the strip. Got the decaf Mocha-Java blend, which was roasted way dark, like around French/Vienna roast. But it was either getting that or a dark Colombian Supremo decaf, or one of the many flavored decafs (which are NOT going through my grinder). Should have taken the barrels as a warning sign.
